Artist Stephanie Schlatter Holds Fourth Annual Art Auction and Wine Tasting Event for Art Aid for Tesfa and Ethiopian Education
Press Release
(GRAND RAPIDS, MICH) – May 2010 – Artist Stephanie Schlatter
held her fourth annual art auction and wine tasting event on behalf
of children in Ethiopia seeking an education. Each year, Stephanie
travels to Ethiopia, where she teaches art to Ethiopian children.
Stephanie then brings the often colorful art back to auctions off,
with all the money going back to Ethiopia to support education.
That’s the purpose behind
Art Aid for Tesfa.
This year’s event was again held in Stephanie’s studio overlooking the inspiring river valley at her Ada, Michigan, home. Stephanie added pieces of her own art into the auction and all the money went to support education in Ethiopia.
Guests enjoyed wines from
Cascade Winery, which provided the wine tasting to support Art Aid for Tesfa, while enjoying music by “Badenya,” a drumming ensemble.
Stephanie is a Board Member of the
Tesfa Foundation, which operates the schools, and Art Aid for Tesfa is the creative division. Foundation founder Dana Roskey attended the event and shared the amazing story of his life’s work on behalf of Ethiopian education.
