“I want my art to stir your emotions, capturing you, summoning a smile, a storm or a sense of wonder...
My work is born from a fascination with creation. I want to share that beauty I find every day in the life that surrounds me, like the intense red and fuchsia of my summer garden, the abstract shapes in clouds and trees, the way light dances across the surface of a river. I usually start from a memory of something my eye has seen, or my heart has experienced, and I paint that memory until I've created something I have yet to see. I consider a piece complete when I can step back and say, "now that's an interesting place to pause."
Art has changed my life. It has taught me true awareness, to see beauty and truth in the ordinary as well as the extraordinary.”
